Bourg-Saint-Maurice — the closest station
30 km, about 35-40 minutes, from €115. Bourg-Saint-Maurice is the closest TGV station to Tignes and the main rail gateway to the Haute-Tarentaise. In winter, direct TGVs serve the station; check the current timetable before you travel. The fastest way in by train.
Moûtiers-Salins-Brides-les-Bains — practical alternative
56 km, about 1h15, from €170. Located further down the Tarentaise valley, Moûtiers is an excellent alternative to Bourg-Saint-Maurice, with direct TGVs — useful if Bourg-Saint-Maurice’s timetable doesn’t suit you.
Aime-La Plagne — quick access
38 km, about 40-45 minutes, from €146. Aime-La Plagne sits between Moûtiers and Bourg-Saint-Maurice. It mainly serves La Plagne but is also a practical access point for Tignes, with some TGVs stopping there in addition to the main stations.
Albertville — valley gateway
75 km, about 1h15 to 1h30, from €235. Albertville is the entry point to the Tarentaise valley from the plain. Further from Tignes, but with more year-round train options, including outside winter season — a good choice if you can’t find a direct train to the mountain stations, or if you’re travelling off-season.
Chambéry — quote on request
About 130 km, about 2h, quote on request. Chambéry station is further from Tignes than the Tarentaise stations, but we can still take you there — contact us for a personalised quote based on your train times.

It depends on your train times, departure city and preferences. Shortest journey: Bourg-Saint-Maurice, only 30 km, under 40 minutes. More timetable choice: Moûtiers, with TGVs complementing Bourg-Saint-Maurice. Off-season travel: Albertville, with year-round train service.
